Equine veterinarians and horse owners participated in the Microbiome Project by Platinum Health^® to help us better understand the effect the equine gut microbiome has on various aspects of horse health.

We collected a small, pea-sized fecal sample from horses across North America, and sequenced the DNA of those microbes. We hope to discover how they interact with their environment in the horse’s gut, potentially leading to more specific areas of study.
